”Natural Language Processing” (NLP) is a research area at the intersection of computational linguistics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. It is concerned with the automated processing of natural language documents by computer systems with a particular application scenario in mind. In this seminar, we will look at different sub-fields of NLP, for instance automatic summarization, machine translation, question answering, and dialog systems. In this seminar, each group of students will focus on one specific NLP topic. Your main task will be to conduct a literature research and to create an educational video about your topic. The seminar will be conducted online. There will be one initial video call with everyone and afterwards individual video calls between the individual groups and the lecturer. Time and date of the first video call will be announced in early October 2020.Students should have already taken and passed “Introduction to Computational Linguistics”. A strong background in artificial intelligence and machine learning is also highly recommended.
