Since May 2018 the European Union implemented the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to give control to individuals over their personal data on a unified international basis. Computer Vision is a powerful tool to solve GDPR issues in image data as tracking, recognizing and segmenting humans in visual sceneries are prominent tasks in this field. The same holds for licence plates and other visual objects which captivate private information. We think that the safest way to keep personal data private is to not give it away in the first place. Thus, we invite you to conquer the task of anonymizing various personal information which can be found in image data, ideally, with an on device approach. Applying, combining and improving existing models or building your own models and testing them against discretionary ones shall be the technical challenge. Further details will be defined during the project. As it is typical for a study project you will gain experience in organizing yourself as a team and working hand in hand with each other. We will support you with: - state of the art project organization tools - workshops on agile framework (SCRUM) and methods for continuous product development - software development operation system to facilitate team's work flow and respective workshops - professional support for computer vision and machine learning methods Prerequisites: - willingness to work in and as a team (mandatory) - interest in computer vision (very helpful motivational-wise) - basic python skills (mandatory if you want to see yourself developing CV/ML software) - emotional intelligence and interest in acquiring product management skills (mandatory if you want to see yourself coordinating the team)
